ARF Board Appoints Interim Director
The Board of Directors for the Muncie Animal Rescue Fund (ARF) is pleased to announce that Sheri Niekamp will serve as Interim Executive Director effective December 30, 2011. Assisting Sheri will be the newly appointed Interim Assistant Director, Melissa Blair. The Executive Director and Assistant Director positions will be permanently filled as soon as possible following a public job posting.
Just two weeks after Executive Director, Phil Peckinpaugh, announced his resignation from ARF, two internal candidates have been put in place to fill his shoes while an external job search is conducted. Given the opportunity for reorganization, the Board has decided to change the staffing to include an Assistant Director position.
Sheri Niekamp is just finishing her Master's degree in Organizational and Communication Development from Ball State University. She has worked as an intern at ARF for the last two years and built a strong relationship with the staff in addition to understanding the organizational structure and fundraising needs. Sheri is passionate about working to continue ARF's mission of providing safety, medical care, and love to the neglected animals of Delaware County.
Melissa Blair has been the Operations Manager at ARF for many years. She has a vast knowledge of the day to day operations and the animal adoption process. Melissa has experience in coordinating the wonderful team of volunteers at ARF and will be a key contributor in the grant writing process.
